Three Simple Ways Leaders Inspire a Vision-Driven Culture
I’ve been to dozens of company off-site events where leaders have boldly presented on the vision for their organization. It takes courage to unveil a new or updated vision. It’s easier, safer, and more common to keep things the same — the same often equals mediocre.
Recently, I observed a leader who did a great job with vision-casting. As I watched, I couldn’t help but feel his passion. It was a story-based-presentation on the past foundations of the original founder and was connected to the present with opportunities for new innovations and approaches to remain a market-leader.
Here’s How Leaders Inspire a Vision Driven Culture:
1. Leaders know vision without passion is a picture without possibilities.
They create stories and examples that inspire.
2. Leaders share a vision with heart and soul.
They believe their own message and its conveyed with genuine heart and soul. According to Horst Schulze, founding President and former CEO of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, “You are nothing unless it comes from your heart.”
3. Leaders communicate a vision and confidence.
Passion alone isn’t enough. People must feel your confidence in their participation. A shared vision in order to say, “yes we can!”
Now may be the perfect time to re-visit your vision and how to inspire a vision-driven culture.
