How God Feels About You
My wife, Julie does a wonderful job decorating for Christmas. Nothing over the top by any means, but it sure is just enough to make our home feel festive and cozy. The holiday season is lovely, peaceful, and perfect for my family.
If you go back over 2,000 years to the very first Christmas, it was anything but warm and lovely. It was an open-face, little barn and manger. Animals, a feeding trough, and hopefully a little straw to take the edge off the cool evening, for God’s son Jesus.
Sometimes I have to pause and reflect upon that first Christmas. God’s love to reach me in the midst of my broken, often stormy life of stress and struggles…
In his book A Gentle Thunder: Hearing God Through the Storm, bestselling author, Max Lucado writes a wonderful description of how God feels about you and me:
- If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
- If he had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
- God sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
- Whenever you want to talk, God will listen.
- God can live anywhere in the universe and he chose your heart.
And the Christmas gift he sent you in Bethlehem? Face it, friend. He’s crazy about you!
The beautiful thing about a gift is you just receive it.
Have a wonderful and safe Christmas!
