Four Things Leaders Must Change– Right Now!
Minister Tony Evans writes:
If you want a better world,
Composed of better nations,
Inhabited by better states,
Made up of better cities,
Comprised of better neighborhoods,
Illuminated by better churches,
Populated by better families,
Then you’ll have to start by becoming,
A better person.
If you want to see a positive change in your team and your business–stop looking for better people… become a better person.
Here Are Four Things Leaders Must Change Right Now:
1. Change Your Party.
I used to hang-out in pity parties.
- “Poor me”
- “Life is tough”
- “People don’t follow-through”
- “Things are so unfair”
It’s a dead-end street to nowhere. No results. No change. No breakthrough.
The best decision in the last 10 years of my leadership is to resist any form of pity party mentality. Don’t go there. Period.
2. Change Your Channel.
My father had that classic phrase: “Steve, change the channel.” In other words, “change your attitude.” When I was a boy I’d lay my sports uniform out the night before a game. When the next day came I’d be excited to put my uniform on.
Each day, layout your attitude. Put it on like a fresh uniform.
- Choose joy
- Choose a positive attitude
- Choose to overcome
3. Choose to Let Go.
Let go of any friends, co-workers, clients, or people that are not good influencers. Life is too short to be drained by negativity.
Remember: Every minute of every day you spend with the wrong people takes away time you have with the right ones.
4. Break Away From the Pack.
Live differently than average people.
- Think different
- Display positive emotions
- Stand + Talk differently
- Serve differently
Remember, average people get by. Successful people do that extra that sets them apart.
