2023: Turn a Good Year Into a GREAT Year!
Every Friday for nearly twelve years, I would have a phone appointment with my mentor. He was a pastor and a leader at one of the largest and most significant congregations in the US. He was also on a slow path to dying (well, aren’t we all?). You see, he had Leukemia. I observed from afar all of his chemotherapy treatments and how he still managed to show up week after week to minister, lead, and inspire others. Our conversations centered around his upcoming message and as time passed, I’d try to offer a few anecdotes, illustrations, and examples to assist him.
In one of our final conversations, he shared to me keys to being his best. I’d like to offer the same to you as we think about being our best and turning this year into our BEST year!
My mentor passed away on May 30th, 2003. He’s at peace but his legacy and influence have been imprinted in my heart and soul. Each year, I try to make it my best by slowing down, getting out, doing something, and getting better.
Here’s to your best year!
